VP, Editorial Services

Jay Tilin

Jay Tilin joined the company in 2011 as a finishing editor for feature film and episodic television shows and as the head of the editorial department in New York. He works primarily in Autodesk Flame (formerly Smoke) but is proficient in all the major editorial platforms, as well as the entire Adobe suite of compositing and image editing tools.

He previously held a similar position at Technicolor’s New York operation and prior to that spend seven years doing Smoke conforming for commercials at the New York offices of R!ot (since folded into Company 3). Prior to that, he worked at the Tape House, where he was among the first adopters of HD and then nonlinear conform work. Today, he is among the first to conform television/streaming jobs in 4K and HDR. Tilin’s extensive experience in new editorial technologies and his keen eye for compositing, beauty and other VFX work, makes him ready for every technical and artistic challenge that comes to his bay.

Recent projects include the series True Detective and biopicBessie for HBO and series Hap and Leonard for the Sundance Channel. Tilin lives on Long Island, where he grew up and has a BA in Broadcasting from SUNY Oswego.
