Talented and versatile colorist Shane Harris has amassed an impressive list of credits that includes feature ﬁlms, national television commercials, and music videos. Harris’ most recent feature work includes the blockbuster Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and the drama The Gambler starring Mark Wahlberg. Other titles include The Signal which premiered at Sundance (2014) and Sundance (2012) breakout Celeste & Jesse Forever as well as the Rolling Stones documentary, Crossﬁre Hurricane, which ran on HBO to great acclaim. He most recently reunited with cinematographer Paul Cameron on the new HBO pilot Westworld, directed by Jonathon Nolan.
A native of Los Angeles, Harris studied at Arizona State University receiving his BA in advertising. He returned to Los Angeles where he started his career working in the vault at Post Logic Studios in Hollywood and quickly worked his way up to telecine assistant. An opportunity to begin his career as a colorist led to his move to Digital Magic. He joined Company 3 in 1999 as an assistant/dailies colorist to Stefan Sonnenfeld, where he was able to hone his skills and become a colorist at Company 3. There he started out on commercial dailies for top directors and cinematographers. In-demand for final color work, Harris colors dailies on features such as the acclaimed Foxcatcher and Transformers: Age of Extinction. Meanwhile, Harris has colored a great many commercials for clients including Audi and Nissan and music videos such the hit “City of Angels” for the group Thirty Seconds To Mars.
