Lana Marie Hattar, Re-Recording Mixer at Company 3 Toronto, has the principles of sound and music in her blood. Even before she came to Company 3 (then under the Deluxe banner) in 2001 in an entry-level role, she had proven her talent and technical abilities outside the film and TV industry. With a natural ear for sound and a strong foundation in audio mixing, she steadily rose through the ranks, officially stepping into her current position in 2024. Since then, Hattar has brought her unique touch to a diverse slate of productions, including From (Seasons 2 and 3) for MGM+/Epix, Motorheads for Amazon Prime, and Netflix’s Sex/Life (Seasons 1 and 2).
Before transitioning into film and television, she cut her teeth in Toronto’s vibrant music scene, working as a live sound engineer (front-of-house and monitor mix) and recording engineer at respected studios including Electric Machine and The Big Room. Her projects ranged from studio albums and symphony recordings to live music podcasts—experiences that not only sharpened her technical skills but also gave her the versatility to collaborate with creatives across genres, cultures, and workflows. This ability to adapt and connect continues to define her approach when mixing for directors and showrunners crafting the audio for their work.
Outside the mixing stage, Hattar is an avid skydiver and snowboarder. She also continues to play guitar whenever and wherever she’s able.
