We’re delighted to be joining forces with Justin Baldoni’s Wayfarer Studios and Wayfarer Entertainment to be the official post-production partner for their ground-breaking experimental filmmaking competition, The Six Feet Apart Experiment.
The competition aims to empower creatives with the access, opportunity, and resources to produce innovative and socially impactful films in the age of COVID-19 and the ongoing systemic inequalities as highlighted by the recent deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery.
The competition is open to all filmmakers —as individuals or in teams—for scripted and experiential narrative films.
A panel of esteemed industry leaders will review the top 10 projects and advocate for the work that they deem to become the five winners. The judges will consider the creative viability of the projects as well as their originality, social impact, and innovative storytelling techniques.
Winners will have the opportunity to receive $50,000 towards production. $25,000 in production financing from Wayfarer Studios to complete their director’s cut of the film and $25,000 in-kind post-production services. Additionally, winners will be paired with a seasoned filmmaker who will provide mentorship throughout the project’s development, production, and post-production.
Our Founder and President, Stefan Sonnenfeld, will be serving as Executive Producer on all films. He comments ‘I am honored to be part of a project which opens the door to storytellers who might not otherwise have access to the resources they need to bring their ideas to life. We are incredibly excited to offer our craft, experience, and services to explore and elevate their creativity’.
The final entry deadline is July 6th.
