Company 3’s Stefan Sonnenfeld shared insights into his work on this year’s blockbuster biopic Michael on The Making Of podcast, with host Mike Valinsky. Stefan notes that, “It’s inspiring to color and listen to music at the same time…together they give the ability to evoke certain emotions.” They discuss his remarkable career journey—from delivering film reels to the lab for director Michael Mann early in his career to becoming one of the most sought-after colorists and the founder of Company 3. 

Sonnenfeld is also the first colorist ever featured on the podcast, which recently celebrated its fourth anniversary. Over the years, The Making Of has welcomed an impressive roster of industry talent, including directors Richard Linklater, Joachim Trier, and Justin Lin; cinematographers Autumn Durald Arkapaw, Larry Sher, and James Whitaker; as well as leading editors, VFX supervisors, sound mixers, and other creative voices from across the filmmaking landscape.
