Company 3 Senior Colorist Dave Hussey reunited with director Francis Lawrence and cinematographer Jo Willems to grade The Long Walk, Lionsgate’s new feature based on Stephen King’s dystopian novel.

Shot across multiple real-world locations with minimal lighting, the film’s visual language evokes the Vietnam-era photography that inspired its look. Hussey used DaVinci Resolve to craft a subtle, vintage aesthetic that balanced natural light, grain, and continuity across shifting outdoor conditions.

“It was all about grading what was there,” says Hussey. “Just spending time with the images and bringing them together into a powerful story.”
