Post Perspective recently delved into the meticulous world of sound mixing for the action-thriller, Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, with a fascinating chat with Company 3 Toronto’s Senior Re-Recording Mixer Christian Cooke and Re-Recording Mixer Mark Zsifkovits.

Director Christian Gudegast had a clear vision: “Action should feel grounded, and punches should sound like real punches.” Cooke and Zsifkovits worked closely with him to bring that realism to life through carefully crafted sound design. This included everything from the precise “thwack” of a punch hitting skin versus a jacket, to amplifying the electric growl of a Porsche, and even matching sirens to their correct regions so that audiences felt completely immersed.

This piece offers an incredible glimpse into the dedication and artistry behind crafting an immersive and believable sonic experience for the film.
