Company 3 LA Senior Colorist Jill Bogdanowicz recently caught up with MovieWeb about shaping the visual language of From the World of John Wick: Ballerina. Collaborating closely with director Len Wiseman and cinematographer Damián García, Jill helped create a world that feels fresh while remaining rooted in the franchise’s signature sleek, stylized aesthetic.

Color played a pivotal role in defining Ballerina’s emotional tone. In the interview, Jill shares how she expanded on the “Wick-verse” palette with rich blues, neons, and golden hues, balancing high-impact action with moments of introspection. “We needed to keep the DNA of the Wick world,” she explains, “but give Ballerina its own visual voice.”

Her approach was anchored in creative trust and visual experimentation. Working in DaVinci Resolve and drawing on García’s detailed cinematography, Bogdanowicz used color to guide viewers through mood shifts, location changes, and evolving character arcs.

From moody desaturation to electric neon contrasts, every choice in the grade enhances storytelling. As Ballerina steps into the world of John Wick, Jill’s work ensures it does so with a bold and distinctive style.
