The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced the nominations for the 47th Annual Sports Emmy Awards, recognizing excellence across 47 categories in sports television. This year’s nominees span long-form storytelling and short-form content alike, spotlighting the craft shaping how audiences experience sports on screen. The ceremony will take place on May 26 at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City.

Among this year’s nominees is the NFL’s Super Bowl LX ad, ‘Champion,’ recognized in the Outstanding Public Service Content – Sports category. Directed by Rupert Sanders and shot by Hoyte Van Hoytema, the spot was color graded by Company 3 Senior Colorist Stefan Sonnenfeld. Centered on a young boy echoing his coach’s speech, the promo highlights the impact of mentorship, closing with the message, “Belief is a superpower.”

Also recognized is Raise The Flags: 50 Years of Buccaneers Football, nominated for Outstanding Sports Camera Work – Long Form. Directed by Trent Cooper and shot by cinematographers Eric Wiese and Dakota Diel, the documentary traces the franchise’s history over five decades, weaving archival material with contemporary storytelling. Company 3 Senior Colorist Bryan Smaller crafted the color for the project, with Company 3 Supervising Sound Editor Lucas Sanoff and Sound Designer Erich Netherton contributing sound work that supports the film’s evolving tone and scale.

Together, these nominations reflect the scope and range of the creative teams shaping sports storytelling today.
