Company 3 Collaborations Honored at the 98th Academy Awards

Hollywood’s biggest night delivered plenty of memorable moments as the 98th Academy Awards took place yesterday at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood. Hosted once again by Conan O’Brien, the ceremony celebrated the year’s most outstanding achievements in filmmaking with a mix of rapid-fire jokes, musical performances, and emotional tributes.

Among the night’s highlights was Frankenstein, which received multiple honors, including Best Production Design (Tamara Deverell, Production Design; Shane Vieau, Set Decoration), as well as Oscars for Costume Design and Makeup and Hairstyling. Color finishing was provided by Company 3 Senior Colorist Stefan Sonnenfeld, with sound mixing by Company 3 Senior Re-Recording Mixers Christian Cooke and Brad Zoern, who were also nominated for Best Sound alongside Greg Chapman, Nathan Robitaille, and Nelson Ferreira.

The Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Film went to All the Empty Rooms, directed by Joshua Seftel, produced by Conall Jones, and graded by Company 3 Senior Colorist Kath Raisch.

Other notable wins include F1, which took home the Oscar for Best Sound. The film was graded by Company 3 Senior Colorist Stefan Sonnenfeld.

The ceremony also marked a historic moment for cinematography. Our longtime collaborator Autumn Durald Arkapaw won the Oscar for Best Cinematography for her work on Sinners, making history as the first woman and first woman of color to win the category. She had previously set a record as the first woman of color nominated for the prize and is also the first woman to shoot a film in large-format IMAX.
