Company 3 was proud to partner with New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) to host an in-person masterclass series at our New York studio, offering filmmakers and creatives an inside look at our post-production process. Across three sessions, participants explored the craft, collaboration, and technical workflows that shape a project’s final delivery, from career development and mentorship to conform and live color grading.

As NYWIFT continued its mission to support and elevate women in the moving image industry, this masterclass spotlighted the expertise and leadership of Company 3’s artists, producers, and technical teams while fostering meaningful dialogue around access, education, and professional growth. The series provided an engaging, behind-the-scenes look at the creative and technical considerations that define the finishing process.

The first session, Panel: Women at Company 3, held on November 4th, focused on career development, mentorship, and navigating technical spaces within post-production. Panelists Senior Colorist Yoomin Lee, Senior Producer Kate Albers, Color Assistant Marlange Piard, and Production Operations Lead Julia Ward shared their personal paths into the industry, offered technical insights, and discussed the importance of mentorship. The session, moderated by Company 3’s Chief Revenue Officer, Jackie Lee, provided attendees with a candid look at the challenges and opportunities facing women in post-production today.

The second session, The Art of the Conform: Bridging Offline to Online, held on November 6th, explored the crucial stage between editorial and final picture. Led by VP of Sales David Feldman, Head of Production Michael Maida, Long-Form Producer Laura Hickerson, Conform Artist Gina Kalim, and Lead Color Assist/Jr Colorist Emily Bailey, the session unpacked the conform process. It highlighted how colorists, editors, and producers collaborate to ensure precision, continuity, and creative integrity. Participants gained insight into the workflows that bring projects seamlessly from editorial to final delivery.

The final session, Color Session Live, held on November 19th, offered attendees the chance to watch a scene graded in real time by Senior Colorist Kath Raisch. She demonstrated her creative process and explained the decisions that shaped the scene’s look, tone, and mood as they unfolded. Designed to be accessible to both beginners and more experienced color graders, the session offered a hands-on glimpse into the artistry and technical expertise that define post-production at Company 3.

This masterclass series highlighted Company 3’s ongoing commitment to education, mentorship, and transparency within the post-production community, made possible through a meaningful collaboration with NYWIFT. Together, we continue to elevate industry voices, foster knowledge sharing, and support the next generation of creatives through accessible, engaging programming.
