Frankenstein Sound Team Nominated for an Academy Award
January 22, 2026 Jan. 22, 2026Company 3 is thrilled to celebrate an Academy Award nomination for the Frankenstein sound team in the Best Sound category. The nomination recognizes Senior Re-Recording Mixer Christian Cooke, alongside Re-Recording Mixer Brad Zoern, Greg Chapman, Nathan Robitaille, and Nelson Ferreira, marking a major achievement for the team and a standout moment for Company 3.
Oscar nominations for the 98th Academy Awards were announced earlier today by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, honoring films released in 2025. Revealed live by actors Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman, the announcement kicked off one of the most anticipated moments of the awards season.
In addition to its Best Sound nomination, Frankenstein earned multiple Oscar nods, including Best Picture, Cinematography, and Production Design. Company 3 supported the film across sound, color, finishing, and dailies, with color by Senior Colorist Stefan Sonnenfeld, as part of an expansive creative collaboration led by director Guillermo del Toro.
In total, seven projects supported by Company 3 artists received Academy Award nominations this year, including Marty Supreme, graded by Senior Colorist Yvan Lucas, which earned nine nominations, including Best Picture. F1 received four nominations, including Best Picture, Film Editing, and Visual Effects, with grading by Senior Colorist Stefan Sonnenfeld. Bugonia earned multiple nominations, including Best Picture, with color finishing led by Senior Colorist Greg Fisher. The documentary short All The Empty Rooms, graded by Senior Colorist Kath Raisch, was also nominated for Best Documentary Short.
The Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood, with Conan O’Brien returning as host.
